Publisher Announces Top Summer Seller, the Latest on the IWC, and a Website Offer You Can't Resist

A Beginner's Guide to Owning a Mule proved to be the 2018 summer's top-selling book.

We were all a little stunned at this news, I have to admit.  If anything I think we expected our rowing book to take the lead in sales it being summer and all. We were quite surprised when we looked at the reports and saw that this little mule book just chugged along, with Ingram sending out multiple copies every month.

We received a number of very complimentary comments also. Nick Zaillion said, "This book is not just for beginners! I learned a lot from this book and have made some changes in how I tack up my mule. What a difference! Head throwing stopped completely. I'm going to read it again. A lot of great information here."

Nick also bought a second book for his wife. He didn't want to share his!

Debbie Humphreys, a long time mule rider, also commented on the helpfulness of the book. Others enjoyed the humor and honesty. Ty Evans of TSMules sells the book on his website ((TSMules.com) and has a great review of it.

So apparently, readers feel there's helpful information here for any level of rider - if nothing else it's a good review for experienced riders and apparently a fun read. You can't go wrong for $12.95 plus FREE SHIPPING if you order on Moonlight Mesa's website.  www.moonlightmesaassociates.com  Due to the size of the file because of photos, A Beginner's Guide to Owning a Mule will not be released as an ebook.

IT'S OFFICIAL: A 2019 PUBLICATION NOW SCHEDULED

It looks like we'll be publishing Saving a Whale somewhere around May 2019. It's a certainty that the ebook will be ready by then. We have yet to decide if we'll put the book out in hard copy or not. Basically it depends on the page and word count.

We've learned, because of the success of Getting a Handle on Herpes by P.A. Arnold, that a stand-alone ebook can do just dandy. A hard copy is not always necessary. It's nice to have a paper copy, I'll admit, but we have to take into consideration page count and most importantly,  can we sell it at our events.

At any rate, I think Saving a Whale, while another niche topic, will do well. We recognize that sales may be limited due to the topic, but we're sold on what we've read so far.

SPECIAL FALL SALES OFFER

We are offering FREE SHIPPING if you buy $30 worth of books from our website. All titles are included in this -  no exclusions.

IWC UPDATE

Because of the whale book we're looking to publish in 2019, we paid close attention to the IWC (International Whaling Commission) meeting held this year in Brazil. If you think that sounds boring, think again. 89 nations converge to discuss all manner of topics relating to whales and their preservation. Most importantly, however, the commission once again denied Japan's petition to end the moratorium on whaling. That being said, it needs to be noted that Japan still kills whales, despite the moratorium, but does so under a "permit" for hunting whales for "research purposes." Apparently they needed to hunt down 333 minke whales last year, most of whom were juveniles or pregnant. They also have harpooned whales in sanctuary areas. There's a lot more ugliness to all of this, but we'll leave that for our publication, Saving a Whale, to go into detail on.

If you're interested in this topic, check out IWC.com. Their website is loaded with easily accessible information.
