Loose Ends

WESTERN BOOK PUBLISHER, BECKY COFFIELD

Moonlight Mesa publisher Becky Coffield has been busy tying up loose ends the past week or two. Although there are no titles remaining on the publisher's 2011 calendar, there's still plenty of desk clearing to do, short stories to read (for the Cowboy Up Contest) LARGE PRINT BOOKS to ready for the printer, and time for seeking out marketing opportunities for the company's titles.

FIRST LARGE PRINT EDITION BOOK AVAILABLE

Saving Tom Black, Jere D. James' wildly popular Western novel, is now available in a LARGE PRINT EDITION. "I am very excited about this," said Coffield. "I have no idea who to market this book to, but I do think it has possibilities. In fact, I've readied the second book in the series, Apache, for LARGE PRINT also, just in case Saving Tom Black really takes off in this new format."

The LARGE PRINT EDITION of the book will be available on Amazon, and on the publishers' website where it is on sale for $16.95. That's $3 off the retail price.

NORTHERN CONSPIRACY NOW ON KINDLE AND NOOK

Northern Conspiracy is now available on Kindle and Nook - or will be very shortly. (The book has been uploaded but is still in the printing process.) "I'm happy to get this book behind me," said Coffield. "It's been hanging around way too long. People REALLY like the book, however, and I get all kinds of comments about not having it published in the proper order. I won't make that mistake again."

"We are looking for some good reviews for the book, so if you're a published reviewer, contact me and we'll send you a book," Coffield said.

SUMMER SALES SURPRISINGLY STRONG

Despite it being the slowest book selling time of the year, Moonlight Mesa has had good sales so far this summer. Although ebook sales were lower in June, paperback sales remained surprisingly stable. "What's interesting, is that every single title is selling. Granted some sell more than others, but I don't think there was one title that didn't get sent out last month," Coffield said.

Moonlight Mesa shipped a number of Jere D. James' Canyon of Death out to retailers and pre-orders. "I also filled some back orders for Northern Conspiracy," the publisher said.

T-SHIRTS FOR SALE SOON

Moonlight Mesa will soon have t-shirts for sale! Yep. Remember the mule slogan contest that ran awhile back? Well, two of the slogans submitted will be immortalized on t-shirts for sale on Moonlight Mesa's website. One slogan submitted by Vin Libassi says: If you don't read, you won't know your ass from a hole in the ground. The other slogan submitted by Tom Coffield says: Only asses don't read.

Well, you gotta see the pictures to get the most out of the slogans!

T-shirts should be ready in August!
