"Casey Tibbs - Born to Ride" Now in Print

Rusty Richards' long awaited biography of rodeo superstar Casey Tibbs is now available from Moonlight Mesa Associates, Western book publisher - but only in trade paperback so far. Hardbound copies will not be available until late October.

"The interest that this book has generated is almost staggering," said publisher Becky Coffield. "I don't know if it's because the Western is seeing a resurgence in popularity, or if rodeo is having a big surge in popularity, but something for sure is going on."

The trade paperback, a POD by Lightningsource, retails for $19.95 and the limited edition hardbound, a digital production by Bang Printing, will retail for $24.95. The hardbound will have a dust jacket, designed by Vin Libassi of spiralpath.net, and gold embossing on the cover. Anyone wishing to reserve a copy of the hardbound can do so by emailing the publisher. Contact information is available at www.moonlightmesaassociates.com.. A signed hardbound copy can be purchased from the author at www.rustyrichards.com.

The trade paperback can be ordered on Moonlight Mesa's website using PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, etc. or as a downloadable mail order form. In addition, the trade paperback can also be ordered through bookstores. Moonlight Mesa Associates will be the sole distributor of the hardbound edition, however. Interested vendors should contact the publisher using the contact information provided on the website.

"The book is excellent," said Coffield. Richards spent over 20 years writing the manuscript and many years searching for a publisher. "Rusty always says that Moonlight Mesa was meant to be the publisher. Maybe so. I only know that I found the story absolutely fascinating. This may be the best Western biography yet. After reading it I truly felt that Casey deserved to have his story told, and Rusty was the perfect person to do so. I'm honored to have been able to be a part of bringing Casey's story to light."

Richards, a singer, songwriter, actor, and cowboy, was a close friend of Tibbs. He did not, however, let his friendship interfere with telling the truth about Casey - his exploits, pranks, loves, weaknesses, and brilliant success in rodeo.

Endorsements for the book have come from a myriad of people, including Baxter Black, Charlie Daniels, Red Steagall, Harry Carey Jr., Buck Taylor, Larry Mahan, Steve Ford, and a host of other well known individuals. Magazine reviews will be arriving shortly.

The book is technically not due out until November and will "debut" at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, NV. in December. Richards will be signing the book there.

Due to unforseen circumstances, Moonlight Mesa Associates has cancelled its participation in the Western Legends event in Kanab, Utah, August 27 and 28. "We won't be doing another event until the Rex Allen Days in Willcox, AZ. in October," said Coffield. "I truly regret not being able to attend the Kanab event, but I can't be everywhere at the same time, and no one on the staff was available to go in my place."

"This was our only other opportunity to test market the Casey Tibbs book. Judging by the reaction of people to the book so far, though, I don't think that will be a problem. I practically had to hold an auction in Big Bear because the demand for the sole proof copy was so high!" Coffield said.
