NO ONE CAN SELL A BOOK AS WELL AS THE AUTHOR CAN

Much to the delight of author J.R. Sanders and Moonlight Mesa Associates, Inc., The Littlest Wrangler is proving to be quite popular in institutional settings. “Just this past week we filled orders to NMJC in Hobbs, New Mexico, and the Flagstaff Museum in Flagstaff, Arizona. We have several other pending orders from museums/historical sites. We’re also trying to develop an interest in the book in elementary schools,” said Becky Coffield, publisher. This is largely due to Sanders sending out hundreds of postcards to prospective purchasers.

The hardest part about being a small publisher, is getting the books into the mainstream. It’s very difficult. It takes an extraordinary amount of time and postage. “We feel so lucky to have authors like J.R. Sanders, Stoney Bowers, and Jere James who are willing to roll up their sleeves and really dig in and help with the marketing of their books. NO ONE can sell a book like the author can, pure and simple,” said Coffield.

“Many writers who query us just don’t want to be bothered with having to sell their books. I just won’t give these folks my time. If an author doesn’t care enough about his/her work to commit to marketing and selling it, they shouldn’t ask us to give our time, money and energy to publishing it! Like, hello, they aren’t a Stephen King, for pete sake!” Coffield stated. “Few publishers do half as much as we do to help authors out. I know this for a fact!”
