An Exciting New Year

Just when things seem like they can't get better, they get better. I came in the office this morning to find a slew of positive, complimentary emails regarding our first "real" Newsletter. This is a monthly publication that will not only tell Moonlight Mesa news, but also Western publishing news in general. We'll also have author interviews, interviews with professionals in the publishing business, and a smorgasboard of other writing/publishing related topics, including a monthly coupon good for 25% off the featured book.

If anyone reading this blog would like to subscribe to the monthly newsletter, send me a comment/email/what have you. I'll be glad to send you this month's newsletter to check out.

Information about the 2010 Cowboy Up Short Story Contest will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks. We'll post it here and also in our newsletter and on our website.

Jere D. James' exceptional new book will be available just as soon as the books arrive on the UPS truck! We are allowing pre-publication sales because of the unusual interest/demand for the title. Also, there will be no changes from this copy to the "official" edition that will debut at the Festival of the West in Scottsdale, Arizona, in March. Jere will be on hand at that festival to sign books!

J.R. Sanders' The Littlest Wrangler is in the final stages of pre-publication detail.

It's now confirmed. Moonlight Mesa will be participating in the Old Town Jubilee in Yuma, Arizona, January 8 - 10.

Our second January event will be the Wickenburg Ranch Rodeo in Wickenburg, Arizona, January 30th.

We've pretty much agreed that both of Jere D. James' books will be issued on Kindle some time this month. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but...

We put out a lot of books (for us) this past year. 2010 will be a moderate year, with so far only Murder in Thomas Bay pretty much assured a spot on our calendar.

We are, however, laying groundwork for some other new titles, among them Jere D. James' third Jake Silver Adventure: Canyon of Death. Also, we will be issuing an anthology of award-winning Western short stories in 2011. Who knows what else we may sneak in!

Our blogger guy will return shortly. Christmas break and all. Good grief!
