Moonlight Mesa Authors Gather for Mesa Festival
Moonlight Mesa Associates, Inc. authors will gather this coming weekend for the Mesa Old Days Western Festival, held in Mesa, Arizona, November 7th and 8th.
Stoney Greywolf Bowers, author of Reflections from the Wilderness, will be there, as will Jere D. James (Saving Tom Black) and R.L. Coffield (Northern Escape, Death in the Desert, et al). "A good time will be had by all," said publisher Becky Coffield. "We are really looking forward to this festival. I've ordered hundreds of books, so I hope to heck people show up!"
The group will later attend a banquet by the Arizona Authors Literary Contest, where Becky Coffield will receive some level of award for her short story, "The Taming of Jump-Off Joe."
This is the third award Coffield has won from Arizona Authors: Her first award was with Northern Escape, and the second was for the short story, "Saving Grace". Coffield has also won other awards, including one for nonfiction from Willamette Writers, and she placed as a finalist in the nonfiction category in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association.
Coffield will be entering Saving Tom Black in the Spur Awards this year, as well as a selection of Stoney Greywolf Bowers' poetry. Should her short story get published in Arizona Authors Literary Magazine, she'll be eligible to enter that also.
In related news, work is continuing on Jere D. James' Apache and JR Sanders' The Littlest Wrangler.
Moonlight Mesa's new sales rep. will begin making calls this week...not last week as announced.
Only one month remains in the Cowboy Up Short Story Contest. Hurry and get those entries in by December 1.
