"Death in the Desert" Sells Out at Signing Event

Moonlight Mesa Associates' newest publication, Death in the Desert, sold out today at the local Morristown Grand Desert Days Event.

"The two biggest sellers today were Northern Escape and Death in the Desert," said publisher Becky Coffield. Death in the Desert trumped Northern Escape by a few copies, however. Many people bought both books since they are a set."

In addition, Coffield is still test marketing two different covers for Death in the Desert, and clearly the new cover, designed by Vin Libassi, was the stronger seller.

One Pot Galley Gourmet and Life Was a Cabaret also sold well, but Death in the Desert was clearly the favorite.

"I warned everyone that the book is rated R and pretty brutal, but that didn't seem to discourage anyone," Coffield said.

Moonlight Mesa Associates staff will be in Seattle next week working with boating chandleries on stocking Life Was a Cabaret and One Pot Galley Gourmet. Robert Hale and Co. in Seattle is the distributor for both books, but Moonlight Mesa will be making calls of their own now that the boating season is approaching.
